When a TANF household consists of two unmarried adults who each have a child(ren) and a child in common, each must apply for the Child Care Assistance Program on their own behalf. A separate application from each caretaker and two separate cases must be established.

• If only one caretaker is eligible for TANF, the child in common must be included in the case with the TANF recipient.
• If both caretakers are eligible for TANF, the child in common must be placed in the case of the TANF primary individual.
